Margin Films Ltd. is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Managing Director is Quentin Lee. The mission of Margin Films / Fresh Fear is to produce culturally challenging commercial entertainment.



QUENTIN LEE (Producer, Managing Director)

Winner of the 2020 Roddenberry Foundation Impact Awards for TV Creators and a member of the Producers Guild of America and Canadian Media Producers Association, Quentin Lee has directed and produced over ten feature films and three TV series. His first feature Shopping For Fangs (co-directed with Justin Lin) premiered at Toronto International Film Festival and became a cult classic as part of the Asian American New Wave Class of 1997.

His subsequent features Drift, Ethan Mao, The People I’ve Slept With, White Frog and The Unbidden have all been sold and played festivals worldwide such as AFI Fest, Vancouver International, Hawaii International, Sao Paulo, Turin and Cardiff.

As a producer, Quentin has produced Big Gay Love, #1 Serial Killer and Gay Hollywood Dad. Most currently, Brash Girls Club, the limited TV series that he created, produced and directed is now streaming on Tubi. The TV series Comedy InvAsian that he co-created, directed and produced was streamed as a Hulu Exclusive in 2018. In 2020, Quentin produced three stand up comedy specials for Comedy Dynamics, directed and produced a Zoom feature titled Comisery and a Zoom TV series titled Boy Luck Club.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Quentin went to high school in Montreal, holds a B.A. in English from UC Berkeley, an M.A. in English from Yale University, and an M.F.A. in Film Directing from UCLA.


CINDY AU YEUNG (Producer)

Cindy is a Chinese-Canadian producer and editor based in Vancouver, with experience ranging from documentaries, narrative series, to VFX and animation.


Harrison Xu (Producer, VP of Development)

A graduate of USC, Harrison Xu has appeared on award-winning shows such as Shameless and Pretty Little Liars. His most recent credits include a supporting role in a studio feature opposite Dennis Quaid and Sean Patrick Flannery and a leading role in Comisery, the first feature film shot during the pandemic with Amy Hill and Bee Vang. He is also an accomplished voice-over actor, lending his voice to a handful of Netflix originals such as Sweet Home and New Gods: Nezha Reborn. He enjoys writing and shooting comedy sketches under his production company Banana Split Studios. The last short film that he created, Harmony, debuted at the Angelika Film Festival in Duluth, MN. When Harrison isn’t acting, he can be found at the ice rink, climbing gym, or chasing down the best bowl of ramen. He has most recently produced and starred in Last Summer of Nathan Lee.
